About DotSlash
The Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat (NIT Surat), perceives to be a globally accepted centre of excellence in technical education catalysing the transfer of high technologies resulting in enhanced quality. Ashine research park, SVNIT brings to you DotSlash-an inception towards letting our innovations begin.
DotSlash is a 30 hours long hackathon which is completely managed by students of SVNIT, Surat. It is a platform for developers around the world to use their innovative skills to produce something new and useful for the society.
The Hackathon
Explore the realms of Web and Mobile based applications while developing your ideas. You are free to use any framework and any code fragment, until and unless it is open sourced.
The limits are endless and the possiblities are infinite.

Problem Statements Released
Participating Teams will have to select any one of the problem statements released and build their hack around it during the hackathon.
8 : 30 AM
Virtual Onboarding
The teams will be checked in before the main event commences. Participants are requested to make sure that their team members are present and all the prerequisites for the event are fulfilled.
9 : 00 AM
Opening Ceremony
Inauguration ceremony of DOTSLASH 4.0 will start! Participants will be briefed on rules and regulations, schedule and other information regarding hackathon. Problem Statements willl be thoroughly explained.
10 : 00 AM
Hackathon Begins
Coding time starts! The participating teams can utilize their private team rooms on discord server to discuss and develop their hack based on their chosen problem statement
12 : 00 PM
Final Problem Statement Selection
Teams will have to finalise the problem statements they wish to work upon, after which any changes thus requested will stand inadmissible.
3: 00 PM
Mentoring Session
Mentors will visit each of the participating teams present. They will provide guidance and counsel to the teams on how they can improvise their idea or hack they are working on.

Mentoring Session
Mentors will visit the teams again. They will help them come down to the best suited solution for their problem statements and refine their projects before the final submissions.
2 : 00 PM
Judging Round
The judging panel will visit each team to evaluate their work. The participants will be expected to pitch their ideas as well as show a demo of their hack within a stipulated amount of time.
4 : 00 PM
Final Submission - Coding Time Ends
The participants will have to submit their final work. After this point, No addition to the project will be allowed.
4 : 30 PM
Presentation Round
Top 8 teams will have to present their ideas and projects in front of everyone. The Showdown Begins!
7 : 30 PM
Result Declaration
The judges will declare the winners of DotSlash 4.0. Prizes for the winners will be revealed followed by the Closing Ceremony.

All students irrespective of any course are eligible to apply. If you are under 18 years of age, we'll need a parental consent form.

play_arrowHow does the application process work?
We’re looking for people who "do"! Folks who are passionate enough to work on crazy world-changing ideas. We’ll get to know more about your abilities from the past projects, GitHub profile, participation/awards in other hackathons.
play_arrowCan we apply as a team?
Yes! This hackathon is a team competition. Most teams aim to have a mix of people with both design and developer skills. You can have a maximum of 3 members per team. If you don't have a team, you can participate individually. We'll have team formation at the time of hackathon.
play_arrowWhat do I get by attending DotSlash?
Pretty much everything from socializing with fellow hacker communities. And yeah we’ll have prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. Then we're so glad DotSlash will be your first ever! It’s helpful to have some programming or technical experience, but it’s not a requirement. We’ll have talks, mentors and workshops to help you with your project.
